I want to pretend at the moment that this is more than a personal blog, but I think I better suck it up right now and admit that more or less, this is what it is. Hopefully it will also include regular info about upcoming projects in which I am involved, such as the U of C's Sustainability Council, and general happenings at the Divinity School when I begin there in the fall. But while I'd like to imagine that what I write will be either informative and incredibly helpful, or philosophically insightful, or maybe at least 'academic' in some way and 'contributing to the world' as a whole, it will most likely be more of the general personal attempt to understand all those things that are in fact informing and shaping me, rather than me shaping them. But this is writing, no? A personal processing and spiritual exercise of some sort? Or it has been for some, such as Marcus Aurelius, or George Fox. But perhaps putting it in those terms is only overvaluing it again. Either way, here it is, and here we go.
